Together We Can

By Someone Who Believes

Nancy Nelson

oh boy! ten years ago

I began my journey

of ill-timed,

medically puzzling,

and sometimes socially awkward,

cognitive changes.

IT has been all consuming.

There is so much to do.

Grabbing up from skies a-blue

And digging deep down

For a bit longer

To pursue and

Unmask the unanswered shadows

Overhanging a new dementia Light.

What happens

When worry and overwhelm

Gathers momentum

Over things and the future

About loved ones

About daily survival

Everything disturbs a good night’s sleep

IT compounds and clouds,

the mornings-after.

but wait … maybe . . .

WANT TO and thinking CAN DO

add one more thing in each 24

Thinking…thinking…

Come auwn!  Let’s do IT

And here’s how

Reimagining Dementia:

A Creative Coalition for Justice

Call to Action

Communication is KEY

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS Campaign

Tens of millions of people are affected,

surrounded by a “cone of silence”

that perpetuates fear, shame, isolation and stigma.

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS Campaign

. creates a word-of-mouth epidemic

. facilitates and garner better understanding

. to rid misconceptions, shift the culture

. worldwide, within our own neighborhoods,

. our own businesses, clubs, support groups

IT feels so-o-o good to help others

which has carried me for ten years!

Grab my hand and you’ll have my heart,

let’s join together in this fight for equality

around dementia for people living with and their care partners, family and friends.

Volunteer for IT.

Get to know IT.

Share IT.

And sprinkle some fun in and around IT.

 Together we can!
